PCNA is polyubiquitinated in response to a variety of replication stressors. (A) 293T cells were untreated or treated with the indicated dose of UV (30 J/m2), CPT (160 μM), MMS (0.02%), MMC (40 ng/ml) or ionizing radiation (4 Gy) according to materials and methods. Both longer and shorter exposures are shown. (B) HeLa cells were treated the same as in A. (C) A549 and HeLa cells were treated with 0, 0.5 or 1 μM BPDE for 1 h and lysed 5 hours post-treatment following by immunoblotting for PCNA.
