  1. aPurified MΦ were first pre-incubated for 24 h with 10 ng/ml LPS, and then cultured for 36 h in the presence or absence of 10-6 M or 10-8 M prednisone, thalidomide, cyclosporine A, or amitriptyline. Cell viability was then assessed using propidium iodide. All results are shown as mean ± SD for three independent experiments, which did not vary significantly from the control.
