Lipid concentrations in control and DM2 subjects. a Unsaturated fatty acids (UFA) and b cholesterol were extracted from plasma samples, separated, identified and quantified by HPLC as reported in “Materials and methods” section. No differences in UFA or cholesterol were found between DM2 and controls, either HHV8-positive or -negative. The data are expressed as the mean concentration values + SEM and significance was calculated by ANOVA and Bonferroni post hoc tests.
